I needed to practice painting a pomegranate for another painting I was making a study for. So this is the study for the study, because I had never painted a pomegranate before. I decided to go for a traditional set-up, with a glass bottle and two pomegranates. Painting the small seeds was a lot of fun, mixing the different shades of red with the cooler colors of the thin paperlike separations between the clusters of seeds.
